Over the past year Scouting in Birdham and Witterings has not been as we would have planned it, some of the  children  have been able to take part in Zoom meetings fortnightly,keeping the group functioning.

We are hoping to return to Face 2 Face Scouting in the very near future , so we are starting planning for the future now.


Lots have gone on over the past year including some of our Group Executive members giving us notice of their intended retirement from the group in May 2021 at our AGM.


We are now looking for some replacement volunteers to assist us as listed below for the tasks which  you may feel you are able to support us with, full support and any training will be given.


Task 1


We require a volunteer  to manage our input and outgoings of finance for the Group and record the same.

 

Task 2


We require a volunteer to take minutes of any Executive Committee Meetings being held and cover any correspondence required for the group.


Task 3


We require a volunteer who would be able to head up the Executive Committee and act as the meeting Chair to ensure the group is fulfilling its Scouting need in the villages ..

 

You may come  home from your own work late, or have other children at home to care for , but for the above tasks most can be done at home in your own suitable time , except for any  occasional attendance at a meeting.

Subs


Subs are currently £45.00 per term paid termly by cheque made payable to 1st Birdham & Witterings Scouts or by BACS payment.


Gift Aid


If you are a UK tax payer please donate your subs using the Gift Aid Scheme and we can claim 25p on every £1 you donate.  


Fundraising 


We hold a number of fundraising events and activities throughout the year including Santa's Sleigh, The Big Dip & Marquee Hire. We also need to raise money to build a new Headquarters in the near future to house our ever expanding group.


Without help and support at these events we will not be able to raise the additional funds we need to keep our group going and give our young people the fun and educational activities as part of our training programme. If you can help in any way please contact us.

Face to face meetings to resume soon.


Following govenment and Scout Association guidelines we are now preparing to get back to more normal scouting activities.

Initially this will be outside meetings but by the summer we are hoping to be back inside the headquarters.
